Missionary Reality of Canada

We are 6 sisters in two communities.

Dwelling Place Community- at Providence Centre.

  • Sr. Hazel: To provide a PRESENCE of kindness among those in care, especially Sisters Connie and Marjorie; to bring joy and hope to Liturgical celebrations; to wisely guide deacons in formation and those seeking an annulment.
  • Sr. Pilar: My ministry encompasses various activities within the Archdiocese of Edmonton. I serve as a Catholic Chaplain at the university hospital, supporting and accompanying patients’ families and staff during life’s most challenging moments, offering spiritual, emotional, and pastoral support.

At Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, a Spanish-speaking Catholic community, I serve as a pastoral assistant and coordinate sacraments. It is a unique Catholic community of immigrants from 23 different countries.

I also serve as a spiritual counsellor with Teams of Our Lady (TOOL), an international Catholic lay movement focused on deepening married spirituality and helping couples live their sacrament of love through prayer, study, and community.

  • Sr. Connie: To live a life of surrender and adoration.
  • Sr. Marjorie: Living a life of prayer that reminds everyone, “God is so good”!

St. Kateri Community

  • Sr. Catherine: Within the Francophone community, to respond to peoples’ thirst to know God in Sacred Scripture through weekly reflections, Bible study and Retreats. A PRESENCE with our Lebanese neighbours and a single Mom from Haiti and her 5 children, and with our Charism Friends.
  • Sr. Mary Clare: A PRESENCE with our Sisters and family members who are ill; from Catholic Social Service, presence with staff and students in the Catholic schools and among vulnerable youth, survivors of trafficking and domestic violence and adults with disabilities; participation with Indigenous Peoples, our Charism Friends, Culture of Vocation team and the Synod Advisory Committee of the archdiocese.

We share the charism with a large group of Charism Friends.

And we have collaborators and friends with whom we share the mission. For instance: Enlarged finance team; Sacred Heart Church of the First Peoples- World Day of the Poor; Our Lady of Kibeho Orphanage Foundation in Uganda (for example, activity of garage sale as fundraising).
